Lead Solutions Architect

The digital future of VWG UK is changing; we're looking for an integration experienced Lead Solutions Architect to join our team on a permanent basis. You'll be the technical lead on system development across a number of new and exciting IT initiatives. You'll be responsible for managing unique highly complex issues and provides technical leadership on systems development on multiple complex IT projects; conceptualising, proposing and implementing solutions across a variety of hardware platforms (networks, desktops, mobile devices, distributed platforms), and ensuring these solutions fit with strategic business requirements.

As an expert project team member you'll plan and oversee how responsibilities are distributed and work as an expert project team member to advise and guide the delivery of more complex and/or wide-ranging projects. While supporting and guiding other Architects and collaborating the Solution Architecture manager.

Your authoritative recommendations based on expert knowledge and manage the assessment and evaluation of subsequent solutions to ensure that they are fit for purpose, align with strategy and roadmaps, and deliver maximum return on investment for the organisation.

As a technical expert you'll have experience of Integration, application architecture, data and business architectures and even a knowledge of SOAP/REST, ESB, SQL, ETL/DWH technologies. You'll work with a broad range of stakeholders, from Business Analysts, Business Partner Managers to third party suppliers and our brands. You'll know how to communicate technical information to non-technical people and build great working relationships along the way.

The ideal candidate would have experience of:

  • Large scale e-commerce programme for a multi hardware and software environments.
  • Dealing with complex heterogeneous systems function.
  • IT industry, technology and trends.
  • Full-stack technologies involved in e-commerce - from front-end technologies, integration platforms, payment systems through to back-end systems - also including cloud platforms.
